Feasibility Survey
Feasibility survey for energy interventions in refugee villages in Pakistan
This project was a part of the medium-and-long-term energy solutions recommended during the energy needs assessment survey and was funded by UNHCR. Secondary and primary data (collected through field visits) was used for assessing different renewable energy sources. Based on the analysis standalone systems and mini grid systems were designed for electrification in three RVs in Pakistan (two in KP and the other one in Balochistan). BOQs were also developed for these solutions. These BOQs covered the electrical systems and all the components of the solar system including foundation design. Different aspects such as social, financial, legal, and environmental were assessed in this project. The methodology used in this project will also be adopted in the assessment of UNICEF facilities (country office, zonal offices, and field offices) in Afghanistan.
